I studied in Florence, Italy, where I attended Florence University of the Arts. I took business and Italian classes, to name some: Food, Culture, and Society in Italy, Digital Marketing, Art History, International Banking, and Advanced Italian.

While I was there I went to many cities and made traveling a priority. I visited Paris, Rome, Lisbon, Munich, Seville, and Nice to name a few places. I loved trying new foods and seeing all of the different architecture across Europe. Altogether, Florence was an amazing place to study and I am forever grateful to be able to have studied in the birthplace of the Renaissance.

This fall, I had the incredible opportunity to study abroad in London, where I took sustainable marketing courses that transformed the way I think about business and its role in society. It was inspiring to explore how marketing can be used not just to drive profit, but to promote responsibility, transparency, and long-term environmental impact.

Beyond the classroom, studying in London allowed me to be fully immersed in the city’s vibrant energy and rich British culture. I spent countless hours exploring its world renowned art scene, from historic galleries to contemporary exhibitions, which deepened my appreciation for creativity and global perspectives. Living and learning in London made my academic experience come alive in a way that extended far beyond lectures, shaping both my professional goals and personal growth.

Mikhail Whyte
During my time in Costa Rica through Professor Knippen’s Social Entrepreneurship program, Global Changemakers: Spring into Summer, I had the chance to step outside the classroom and see business in its most human form. We toured local coffee shops, met with small business owners, and listened to their stories about building something meaningful in their communities. Those conversations showed me that entrepreneurship isn’t just spreadsheets and strategy—it’s resilience, creativity, and relationships. Watching how these owners balanced profit with purpose made the idea of socially responsible business feel real and tangible. Experiences like this are exactly why Delta Sigma Pi is so valuable for business students. DSP creates a space where learning, mentorship, and professional growth extend far beyond textbooks, helping students connect with the real people and real opportunities that shape the business world.
