The best time to join is after you've officially declared your business major (see accepted majors), typically during your first year at Eckerd. If you're confident you'll pursue a business major but haven't declared yet, it's recommended to wait until your major is officially declared.

Apart from studying business, all who are interested in DSP must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0. Our chapter also accepts individuals that are passionate, willing to grow, and aspire to be committed to our brotherhood.

All new recruits express their interest in joining DSP by filling out the interest form and attending recruitment week events. After recruitment week has concluded, interested members are interviewed. Accepted recruits are then expected to attend the Pledge Ceremony, which is the first of four to five pledge program meetings. At the conclusion of the pledge program, pledges must attend the initiation ceremony (typically a Thursday or Friday evening) in order to officially become a Deltasig.

Yes, all DSP chapters are required to charge a one-time fee for initiating new members. Upsilon Phi's initiation fee for students is $155. The faculty initiation fee will be disclosed shortly.

Payment plans are available through Upsilon Phi's Vice-President of Finance.

Yes, only the accepted majors listed on this page are able to join DSP. However, students are encouraged to declare minors that may not be directly affiliated with Eckerd's business programs.

Absolutely! Many DSP members are apart of on-campus clubs. As long as you are mindful of each organization's expectations and requirements, you can be a thriving member of multiple clubs as a DSP member.

Yes, new members are required to choose to be apart of one of our four standing committees after initiation: executive (for officers only), webmaster, finance, and community standards. These committees are meaningful outlets for developing leadership & management skills, expanding knowledge about niche business concepts, and exploring career interests.
